7 vs. 7 Futsal Rules
• Team listed first on the schedule will kick off first, the other team can choose which goal to defend.
• Teams will wear same colored shirts. If two teams have the same color, the home team will wear pennies.
• Games will be 25 minutes, no halftime.
• Team benches will be under the clock. Teams waiting to play later or next, need to be on the other side of the gym, across from the team benches.
• There will be a continuous clock. The next game will start right on time. There is a 4 minute grace period, so teams need to be ready to jump on and play. Clock will start running even if teams are not ready to play.
• Teams can warm-up in the racquetball courts or outside, not on the game court.
• Teams will consist of six field players and one goalkeeper.
• You may start a game with 5 players. Anything less is a forfeit.
• Substitutes will be on the fly or any dead ball.
• Futsal ball will be the official game ball.
• Shin guards are mandatory.
• Red cards must sit out the next game; two yellow cards equal a red. You cannot replace a red carded player for the current game. You must play short a player.
• Games can end in a tie.
• No throw-ins. Kick-ins will be utilized to restart play. Teams have five seconds to restart play.
• Out of bounds is the blue endline and the first orange sideline. The whole ball must cross over the line to be out.
• If the ball hits the guide wires, play will not stop, but continue on. If the ball hits the ceiling, it will result in a free kick for the other team.
• All fouls and restarts are indirect except for penalty kicks.
• No slide tackling.
• Two-man walls only, must be 4 yards from the ball.
• A goal cannot be scored directly from a kickoff.
• There is no offsides.
• Goalkeeper is NOT allowed to pick up a back pass.
• Goalkeepers may only distribute by hand in their defending half of the field, unless they play the ball with their feet, then to any place on the field. (No punting or drop-kicks)
• Goal kicks will be played from the goalkeeper’s hands or feet.
• Other than the above rule alterations, regular soccer rules will apply.
